On this car, you have to press in (toward the column) just a little before the key will turn. I'm pretty sure this is normal.
Now then, the ignition switch has been sticking "in" for some time. When I remove the key the mechanism doesn't always pop back out. When this happens & I open the door, it chimes like the key is still in. If I tap it it pops out & all is good. No big deal.
Lately though, the starter sometimes drags (teeth against flywheel) for a second after starting the car. The key seems to return from the starting position as it should & the starter (so far) engages & starts the car without a hitch.
Are the two issues likely related?
