my 940 has a significant oil leak that the mechanic diagnosed as a bad distributor (not only the seal, the distributor unit itself). The price I was quoted for a new distributor, seals, and labor was over $500. I have done a fair amount of maintenance on the car myself and would like to tackle this to save some money.
I replaced the cap and rotor myself and that was easy. It sounds like replacing the distributor isn't too involved, but what about the seals? And will I need to set the timing afterwards. What tools would I need for the whole job?
I didn't see a write-up on this in FAQ. would appreciate it if somebody could point me in the right direction. thanks!
