to lower or not to lower: IPD springs vs FCP, cheese factor vs. suspension improvements

I have a '93 240 sedan w/ VX cam, yoshifab adjustable timing gear, and various other adapted/modified bits. Right now, the car sits on Bilstein Tourings with ipd sways, upper/lower gt strut braces, mix of poly and stock bushings, and 14" stock steelies with caps and beauty rings...and ecodes.

Firstly, Let's just say, I'm not that keen on the lowered look. Like many, I was drawn the vintage/boxy/Euro vibe of the 240 and am somewhat nonplussed by the Jeremy Clarkson styled pretension of some current RWD mods. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean that I'm any less fixated on upgrades and mods. With that said: I'm thinking of installing the lowering springs purely for the performance gains, but I'm concerned about deficits in the aesthetics department. If one replaces the springs only, how noticable is the the drop? What's the cheese quotent result? Are the performance gains worth it? Do I need to finally stop tinkering with this car? Is there intelligent life on other planets? According to the website, IPD springs are 1.75 in the front and 1.25 in the rear. FCP spings are 1-1.25 both front and rear. What say ye?
