Art Benstein... Help with audio wiring

I have the DIN plug and jack from Digikey to make the iPod connector for the factory stereo. I have the pin outs. I assume the L on the audio jack goes to the L-in on the DIN and R goes to R-in. Ground goes to ground. I'm unsure of the tip and ring switches on the stereo jack. How are they connected? Thanks!
