Power Loss, Sputter, Stall, no start 200 1979

Hello team!

I've been stumped once again by my lovely 1979 Volvo 245.

I was driving at a moderate 30 mph, when I felt power loss. when I steped firmer on the pedal in an attempt to "Power Through" or Throttle up, the car didn't accelearte as per usual - but the symptoms only lasted for a few moments, then the car was back to full power.

I drove to work. Parked and later fired it up and headed out toward home.
Upon driving in heavy traffic, about 15-20 MPH the car performed ok, experiancing only a few Sputters or loss of power as I would heavily depress the pedal as to keep with the burst of traffic.

But then as traffic broke up, and eveyrone sped to highway speeds the car began to show signs of power loss again, that sputtering sensation that feels like fuel starvation...

I drove the car home about 35-40 MPH, and if you were on I-5 in seattle behind me, I appologize for my cars poor performance.

I pulled to the side of the highway, and in park the car would rev up fine, felt like there was all the power it ever had - but under load (foot on break, car in drive) it had nothing. just weakness.

I pulled the fuel relay and jumped it - no difference i could tell.

Put the relay back in and could feel it clicking on and off.

On the side of the road, I couldn't hear the fuel pump (but later since i got the car home I can hear it run)

Regardless, after a few moments on the side of the road it seemed to drive fine... But not at all.

Upon nursing it home and climbing a hill, the car comlpeatly stalled out, and wouldn't restart.
I rolled it back into some ones driveway, and performed a check on the fuses, and again with the Fuel pump relay.

after 15-20 min or so, it finaly did restart, had enough poer to climb the hill and then again began with the sputtering, and loss of power.

it was most evident when I depressed the gas petal and would feel that sudden loss of power.

Now, I have replaed the fuel filter, it fired right up, ran great, and i again did the load test with my foot on the break, and other on the gas, and it felt great.

However I didn't have time to test drive it after that, and went back to it later and it wouldn't start...

Now she wont start...

Diagnostic suggestions? Please?

Thank you for taking the time to read my story/ symptoms - I really do appreciate your advice and help.
