Another gauge cluster question: 89 wagon cluster in 89 sedan? 200

I've got an 89 244 with an unknown cluster in it. The car was purchased really cheap and with a ton of electrical issues, including that all gauges were faulty. I had another cluster laying around, so I figured I'd plug it in and see what happened. Everything worked except for the fuel gauge (which I quickly found out had the typical rotten electrical connector on the pump assembly).

I don't know what car that replacement cluster came out of, but I now have a bit of a rough idle, and also require a restart if I ever get the RPMs up high. Without the restart the car will idle at 1500+RPMs. I gather this has something to do with the VSS.

Anyway, I got my hands on a cluster from an 89 wagon. I remember reading somewhere that there might be differences between wagon and sedan clusters, is that the case, or will this cluster solve my problems?

Thanks as always!
