New freeze plugs 700

it's a 1990 740 gl 4cyl 3.2 engine
This guy put new freeze plugs and a new gasket back on the intake side and now the freeze plugs have just a little water comming out on the bottom of them.
Is there a certain chemical r caulking like RTV to use to seal them better so they don't leak?
I thought this guy knew what he was doing cause he was always working on his own car but it's not a volvo
