expansion reservoir tank cap 200 1993

Small amounts of coolant are leaking out of the expansion reservoir tank cap. I assume the vent on the cap has failed. Are there other explanations ? (Radiator, hoses, and thermostat are new.)

Can the vent be cleaned ?

IPD has an aftermarket cap for 8$ and a Volvo cap for 36$. Is there a reason to get the Volvo cap ?
