I have a 1991 940 with the troublesome Yazaki instrument cluster - not interchangeable with the later VDO instruments.
My question is whether the sender unit (toothed ring and sensor) are specific to the Yazaki fitted models, or are they the same for both Yazaki and VDO equiped cars?
I have looked in the FAQs but couldn't find the answer to this one.
I'm contemplating a back axle swap so need to maintain compatibility,
