Hi All!

The back of the Drivers seat in my 544 seems to have broken. A metal support that runs along the bottom has detached. It looks like this happened already once and a previous owner tried to repair it. Attached are a couple of photos for your consideration:






Are the passenger and drivers side seat backs the same? That would certainly increase my chances of finding one that's in decent condition.

I was thinking this might be a good time to dig into the seat and rebuild the thing, but aside from the seat covers, I'm not sure where I can source any of the innards I might need. I know there is some used stuff out there, but I'd rather rebuild with new pieces if I can (to avoid this from happening again!)

I have no interest in upgrading to a more "modern" seat, though I know there would be many advantages. Certainly, I wouldn't mind upgrading the insides of the seats to be more modern (lumbar support and seat heaters would be nice), but I really like the way the 544 seats look, and I'd like to keep it period correct, if I can.
