manual clutch 900 1993

My old 940 2.0 turbo with manual shift has now done 175,000 miles and just occasionally when it goes up steep hills the clutch slips and I have to back off the throttle a bit. How much longer have I got before it goes altogether do you think? Will it be a slowly increasing problem or a catastrophic failure when it packs up? On the plus side getting it done may get rid of the slight problem Its always had with clutch drag and getting it into gear!
Thanks for any advice . . .
