Thanks to all who help me through my woes on a previous thread. I'm down to the final problem (I hope).
It's a stock 59 PV, 6-volt. When driving, after a mile or two I notice a "fading" and the occasional "lean pop." I have dealt with ignition issues and the carbs.
The big clue is that I can see bubble coming up in the AC fuel pump from the inlet side. The pump has a new diaphragm and the check valves work fine. I have check the pump over and eliminated it as the problem. I replaced everything on the inlet side with a new hose to a new, clear filter, to another new hose to the hardline that goes to the tank.
I doubt that I have a pinhole anywhere as with the amount of bubbles I'd be seeing a leak. When idling there is the occasional bubble but when revving it up and I get a pretty steady stream. I am assuming that I am pumping air to the carbs and that is causing the symptom. I did see bubbles in the filter.
So, I suspect something in the fuel tank. What kind of pick up does that tank have? I did have the tank cleaned a few years ago but this current problem is a recent thing.
Thanks,
Vince
