RPM Sensor & Stalling 900

1994 940 non turbo. Stalls while riding every few minutes. Pull over. After a few minutes can start & go. Then stalls. Etc. Etc. Etc. I changed fuel pump, fuel pump relay, checked & cleaned connections, etc. Only thing I have not done yet is to replace the RPM(Crank Position)Sensor. Could this be the problem ???? I am at wits end trying to resolve this issue. Thanks.
