Hi All,
My car dies after a long drive, able to start the engine (starts right away) and then dies right after. If I let the car sit for 1 hour or so, it runs well again.
A. Checked my water tight seal blade fuse, it looked fine but I changed with a new fuse.
B. Getting 14 volt during idling
C. Jumped the fuse 4 & 6 at right side. Both pumps are running.
D. I got gas & battery terminal is clean and tight.
E. Rolled all the fuses on the driver side
F. Swapped the fuel pump relay but I need to go for a long drive whether the relay was the problem.
E. Checked the ground; negative battery ground spot & fuel injection ground spot; they feel tight with good contact area.
F. cleaned the throttle body but not the idle control valve
G. no gas smell from the fuel regulator hose
H. recently did a tune up except plug wires. resistance reading looks good on coil.
I. I felt the relay clicks on both old and new fuel pump relay. The new one (bought from IPD) has 90,000 miles on it. I put the old one in for now.
Are there any other things I should look into? Bad MAF? Bad main fuel pump?
It's 1 pm in Brooklyn, took me 6 hours to get home. LOL
I went for a test drive around the block, I found a parking spot where I don't have to move my car until late morning. I will report back with a longer test drive.
Thank you as always.
