140 GT cluster bulbs, questions 140-160

Hey there. I've searched and found some helpful info about 140 GT clusters (4 gauge), but I'm looking for a little clarification.

1. Will any press-in circular 12v bulb work in the back of the gauges? The idiot lights all work, but there are no bulbs in the actual gauges, so I need to find some. Then I suppose I have to wire each of the 5 bulbs (the speedo takes two) to the dash light wiring. From reading others' installation experiences, it seems that they already had wiring for the actual gauge bulbs. I don't. Is my thinking correct here?

2. Does it matter which is positive and negative on the rheostat spades? For some reason, it was unplugged when I got it, and I don't want to fry it or anything. I have a red wire and a blue/green striped wire that are right next to the rheostat, but unplugged.

3. I'm confused about the tach wiring. There are 3 spades on the bad of the tach, labeled: +12, 1, and -. +12 is the only empty one, but that seems like a weird label for a negative coil signal. The - is connected to ground on the body of the cluster, and 1 is connected to a blue wire labeled 2, via the 4-prong connector.

Sorry for all the specifics, just want to get this thing installed so I can move on with the rest of the interior stuff before it's roadworthy. Thanks for any tips.

TF
