My 88 244 has only been on the road for a few months now and has been running pretty great, until the skies opened up this month. I unlocked the door to go to work one day and there was a puddle in the backseat, a big one. This happened twice before I started throwing a tarp over my car every time the forecast calls for rain. I've read elsewhere that the problem could be either the weatherstripping or the window scrapers as the problem is in the backseat. To me, the scrapers look fine, they aren't cracked or have missing pieces, the weather stripping, I don't know how to tell if it needs replacing.
The only other place I could think of that water could be coming in at is the windshield. It's on my list of things to replace as the chrome trim piece doesn't sit flush against the windshield on the passenger side and when I'm driving and have the windows up it sounds like air is coming in. In a related question, can I have the windshield replaced and keep the chrome? I really like the look but many people suggest to go with the newer style windshield.
