strange bulb in dome light of 780 newly acquired. 700 1990

Went to pull dome cover off to repair/replace a bulb or switch.
That is when I realized that the dome cover has a small hole in
the center in which a bulb sits and more or less directs light
straight downward, besides the usual lights. The bulb that sits
in this small hole is like nothing I have ever seen before.

Does anyone know how to replace this tiny bulb?

Any advice is appreciated.
