940T Nissen Radiator trans cooler tubes misaligned! 900 1995

The radiator plastic tanks on my 95' 940T are leaking. I bought a replacement Nissens radiator on-line. Size appears correct, but the upper transmission cooler fitting on the new radiator is about 1" high compared to the installed radiator.

The current radiator has a metal plug in that location (for the temp sensor for Regina FI). My car is a 95' with Bosch LH 2.4 FI, no temp sensor.

Several web sites show the same configuration radiator with trans fitting up higher, also just one hole/fitting in that upper location.

Has anyone installed that radiator with misaligned trans tubes? I may release the end of tube from existing radiator to see how it sits naturally - however it's a steel tube which I don't want to preload on a fitting in a plastic radiator tank.

Appreciate any insights or experience you can offer.

Thanks!

Mike
