I just replaced a set of Michelin Energy tires on my '83 245. According to the sales receipt from 2010, I had 237,800 miles on the clock when they were installed. Today, I show 325,000 and change. 88k on a set of tires - not bad at all! They were worn down to the wear indicators, probably could have pushed them another 5-10k, but didn't want to chance it with the weather changing here in California. I replaced them with the same exact tire...Energy MX4, I think. (or MV4). Kind of nuts to spend $140 per tire on a 33 year old car, but I learned a long time ago that tires and brakes are two areas where you don't scrimp.
Thought I'd pass this along for anyone who is looking for a good set of rubbers for their brick. No affiliation with Michelin, just a happy customer. :-)
