Parked for a few months now no spark? 700

So it's winter and I went to get my winter vehicle out, a 1990 740 sedan. When I parked the car it ran fine, it's been very reliable and well maintained. The battery was removed, the gas was stabilized, and mothballs applied throughout.

I put the battery back in, cranked it over, and... nothing, not even close, just cranks and cranks and...

It's not in a good location to work on so I got a can of starting fluid and gave it a good shot into air intake hose (just before MAFS). Cranked again and... nothing. Another couple tries with starting fluid and I'm convinced that it is not a fuel delivery issue, therefore, it's very likely spark.

I looked around underhood for signs of mouse damage to spark plug and coil wires but didn't see anything out of the ordinary anywhere. The CPS wire doesn't look great but the odds of a CPS going out while parked seem pretty low.

So at this point I'm wondering what you guys would run down next? I don't need a laundry list of "proper items" to check as if the car were on a hoist in a heated garage. I need a best guess list of where my precious time should be spent in the frigid cold, probably dark, very snowy field.

Thank you!
