Koyo Inner Tie Rod Replacement 900 1994

I'm still working on the 1994 $200 940. I am just about done with the strut cartridge, ball joint, and Tie Rod End replacement. I haven't hooked up the Tie Rod Ends because the left bellows has a little hole and the right Inner Tie rod is a little loose. So, I will be waiting a few days for parts.

I read for quite awhile about Inner Tie rod replacement and not to do it on a CAM rack, and several other things about CAM TRW and ZF racks that should and should not be done. I have a KOYO rack and am wondering if the peened lock of the tie rod is on the Koyo rack and if so, can it be easily reached from the bottom or is a special grinder required or ??? I assume the rack gear shouldn't be rotated on the Koyo. Is there much more I need to know before starting the job? I have never replaced a rack or the Inner Tie Rods.

The pan, rear main seal and front transmision seal replacement went well. After the tie rod debacle above, the brakes need work. This has been a good Winter project here in MN but my daughter called and her 940 is using anti-freeze. I hate to put in a new head gasket in an engine with 270K miles and lots of rust but probably will. Salt and corrosion kill the cars here it seems.

Thanks
