89 240 vacuum system problems 200 1989

Hello All Brickers!!! Happy New Year!!

Having some issues with the vacuum system of my 240. The blower motor was replaced a few years ago (bear of a job). The duct work is intact, but when the defrost button is pushed to defrsot the windshield, the actuators are not making the switch within the ductwork. It had worked for a while after I had dealt with some of the hoses in engine compartment that run out of the cabin over the block and go to a valve thing(sorry for my ignorance).

That fixed worked for a while, than a friend of mine were doing work in the engine and we altered the hoses to get them further away from the block and next thing I notice a few days after, my defrost isn't coming out properly.

I guess what I'll try is to check the hoses in the console first and make sure they are all connected properly. I have a feeling though, that the problem is with the hose that goes from the cabin into the engine compartment and connects to the valve thing(I can't find the name of this in the manuals presently).

The Bentley Bible is not giving me too much for diagrams and illustrations on where and how the vacuum hoses align everywhere. Any one know of any better diagrams/illustrations of the vacuum system, maybe on this site or Matthew's?

Thanks Much and Keep on Bricking
