I am wondering what I should be replacing next, so maybe you can help me fine tune my parts pre-purchase.
The car generally runs great, the flame trap was replaced probably 20K miles ago. Synthetic oil changes.
Recently I did some errands and the car would not start when warm, after I popped into a store. When starter turning, I hear pretty loud suction/backfire-like sound from bottom right of the engine. The first time it happened, I noticed that the 1" hose running from the oil separator to the top of the manifold, just on center, popped off the manifold's nipple. I pushed the hose down the next day and the car started right away.
The second time it happened, I heard the suction/backfire-like sound, and then saw the hose popped off the nipple again. After a few tries the car started and I got home.
So, should I just buy the oil separator and the hoses kit that IPD sells and replace it all? Or is the problem a bit more mundane? Or more serious?
It was a real surprise when it happened the first time because the car, though sitting during the week, always starts at half turn and runs great.
Thank you!
