89 245 sat for a couple weeks....won't crank 200

So, our 89 245 is the backup car, third out of three. It sits a lot and so I tend to drive it on weekends to keep it in the fold. Jumped in this morning and nothing, no crank, nothing. I figured dead battery, but when I hooked up the charge it showed nearly a full charge. All day on the charger and still no crank! Perhaps I am not smart enough to own a Volvo!!! Anyone with an idea where to start looking for the problem?
