Getting close to finishing 444-544

Hey to all, The bumpers are an absolute pain to get right. Over the years we have acquired most of what I need with the exception of having some of the pieces chromed. Using bumper parts from different cars that have who knows how many tough miles put on them create alignment problems. These bumpers are so thin that they dent easy. Just tightening them down on the bumper brackets will dent the bumper if the bumper bracket is just slightly twisted. The fix we used was a 3/16 spacer with the edges rounded to the shape of the bumper so as to not dent the bumper while tightening the carriage bolts. I wanted the body on this car to look all original on the outside but without the Volvo emblems. Most people have no idea what kind of cars these PV`S are, just wanted to keep them guessing. If I had it to do again I would probably go with a BRIZ bumper. They look vintage and look great. I seen a hot rod black PV544 or 444 on PINTEREST that has one on it and it looks great. I found TRICO wiper arms and blades from O`RILLEYS auto parts that worked out great, the part number for the arm is 51-062 and the number for the 12 inch wiper blade is 33-122. The Volvo mirrors are out at the glass shop having new glass installed. This has been a 16 year project that is getting close to finishing. I `m thankful for all the knowledge the Brickboarders have shared with me. Thanks Larry
