122 intake and exhaust manifold flange thickness 120-130

I have a 65 122 with a B20 engine and SU carbs. The previous owner installed headers and I am replacing them with a cast iron exhaust mainfold that has the two pipe down pipe.
Problem: the mounting flanges on the exhaust are considerable thicker than the intake. Is there a matching intake I need to look for or is it a simple matter of grinding the exhaust flanges down to match the intake?
