A/C Conversion Question(s)... 200 1991

All,

I have a 1991, 245 with about 178k on it.

The A/C has a leak and the compressor is going out.

So I'm contemplating the switch from R12 to R134a.

I know I can buy the conversion kit from FCP, so no worries there.

I also plan to replace both OEM original hoses as they were meant for R12 and not R134a, which FCP has told me thus far that they will work fine with R134a, and finally...

I'm planning on replacing the compressor with an R134a compliant one from the PNP out of a 940 (93-95) model. Actually I'm going to buy several so that I can get one that works and have a few spares if need be.

So a couple of questions...
1. How do I get "all" of the R12 oil out? What is good enough here? Is there a flush kit to help this along with out having to tear everything out including the evaporator and condenser to make it so.

2. When I switch over with the conversion kit and compliant compressor, I don't think that I'll have a high side connection any longer. Is this true? If so, how can I rectify this, or does it not matter?

3. Any thing else that I might have missed or overlooked.

Thanks in advance,

Matt
