Hey to all, I took the ole 544 in today to have the new SKANDIX rotors turned while on the car. One hundred and twelve dollars. I really do not trust many mechanics because of what I have seen as a mechanic most of my life. I talked to the shop manager and asked if he would over see the job at hand, which he did to a certain extent. I noticed a slight tap tap in the brake pedal while stopping. I took it right back to watch them scratch there heads. Being polite I said I would bring it in again the next morning when they were not so busy, that was a stupid mistake on my part. While traveling down the interstate at 65 mph in wall to wall traffic I heard something loud hit under the car and I figured they left a socket or something under the hood. It was about 90 degrees out so I had the windows down. I rolled them up for about 5 min to see if I could hear anything else, no trouble. Around 10 miles down the road I started to hear a rattle getting louder every time I hit a crack in the pavement. I got off at the next exit using the emergency brake to slow down thinking maybe the calipers were loose and sure enough the drivers side caliper top bolt was gone and the bottom bolt was hanging on with about one thread. Like Eric said in an earlier post its better to get the Rotor and hub together for safety reasons. The money spent for the rotors, turning the rotors and the time spent trying to trouble shoot everything and trusting the work to be done correctly, Yeah It would have been better but I couldn't find them as a unit. I would still like to know where to find them and the price as well. Thanks Larry
