Tricking the air conditioner relay. ! 700 1990

Air stopped on my 740GLE. Removed the glovebox section, pulled the ac relay ..made my feeble attempt at a solder fix. Still no air.

Till I can get a new relay / or get the dash control module checked ...I wedged a sliver of wood to close the contact on the relay. Air now functions. No heat buidup in relay.

Does anyone know a reason this might NOT be OK for the short term?
