Tensioning Bracket 200

On my 1991 240, when I tightened the long 10mm bolt on the bracket for my alternator the small metal piece that the bolt screws in to is rubbing against one of the wheels that the belts fit on. Can this bracket be bent or adjusted to keep this small piece from rubbing?
