Aftermarker stereo instalation on a 1987 Volvo 240 gl 200

I've watched videos on it a few times and have googled it and I'm gonna buy the harness crossover and the install kit, but can someone give me an actual step by step breakdown on the process? And what's actually needed? I'm tired of not being able to listen to music and need to install an aftermarket stereo
