Taking my 960 to the Catskills.... 900

Taking my first major trip soon, 1,300 miles or so round trip. One thing I want to do when I get back is replace the front struts and rear shocks. I see a lot of original Volvo and Monroe, Gabriel, etc. What do you use on your Volvo? Do you replace the whole strut or just the cartridge?
