I have a 1993 240 with the late model cruise control (with the separate vacuum pump). The system would not longer hold speed and I did a vacuum check. Quickly found that the system would not hold a vacuum. The source of the problem was a hole worn in the rubber diaphragm of the throttle servo. I tried a ghetto fix by using a rubber inner tube patch. This only worked briefly. I think there is too much flex in the diaphragm for the patch seal to hold.
Does anyone have a source for a new servo? I have found the same part but for Jag or Land Rover and the brackets/linkages are different. I don't want to buy a part at Land Rover prices only to hack it up with no real guarantee of success. Thanks in advance.
