How is the shift console removed on '93 240? 200 1993

I don't know why Volvo didn't leave well enough alone. The shifter surround/console on my '84 Turbo was so simple to remove. I am changing out the interior in my wife's '93 (going from tan to charcoal) and I can't see how to get the console/surround off and I don't want to break anything.
