88 760 inner tie rodalignment issue 700

Hello, went to the alignment shop today after new front struts and all the trimmings. They recently aligned after new inner tie rods about 6 weeks ago. This time they told me my inner rod was bent. They showed me after undoing the nut and turning the rod that it had an elliptical pattern to it. The rod looks straight. I aborted and took it to my mechanic, he said it looks fine. We checked the other side and it does the exact same thing, an elliptical rod movement when turning the rod. I have hit nothing or damaged nothing. I am going to take it to another shop for a second opinion. Has anyone else seen this situation??
