I have a 95 945 non turbo w/ about 170k miles. Today, the joint between the catalytic converter and the downpipe failed - pretty sure that the union finally rusted to pieces.
A new downpipe and cat is a little more than $200, and then I'll probably need an O2 sensor as well, but the sticking point (at least from the parts vendors I've checked online) is that my car has Bosch+EGR, and all of the online sources seem to be non-egr.
So, how big a deal is this? Are downpipe/cat combios with EGR plumbing made out of unobtanium? Is there a workaround to disable the EGR system?
