Recommended Shocks for 544 444-544

After looking at historic posts on this subject I am asking a repeat question hoping tho get some updated information. I have a 1963 PV544 With sway bars on both ends. The shocks looked reasonably new so I decided to stay with them for awhile. Well the car rides terrible, so now I am in the market for new shocks. I had a PV444 in the past so I know what I have now is not right. I have heard there may be different valving in 544 shocks than what is available now. Any advice as to type and source for shocks will be greatly apprecited. Many thanks in advance.
