Rough running 200 1984

So I have a 84 wagon with roughly 390k on it (speedometer died for a while; 376k on the actual clock), B23F engine AW70 trans. It idles very rough at about 650 RPM, has little power, I get ignition knock and it gets very hot when I try to climb a hill (and there are plenty of those around here). I tried to check the timing and it seemed good, I can't find any vacuum leaks, there's a new fuel pump and a nearly new filter on it, recent new plugs cap and rotor. In the space of about 100 miles it went from running fine to running like crap. Any ideas?
