My 1963 544 came originally equipped with the ARA A/C system.
I am installing a new system since the old was not working and probably hadn't in a long time.
The ARA design puts the big York/ Tecumseh compressor on a bracket on the drivers side. I has an extra groove for the 1/2" size belts. There were 2 idler pulleys to get the belt to clear everything.
My solution was to build a bracket using the Vintage Air builders brackets https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vta-151015.
I used the bottom of the ARA bracket and drilled to mount where the generator was and attached Vintage Air builders brackets.
I changed to a 10SI alternator and built a bracket using some of the ARA mounting points.
The condenser was only 10"x18" mounted very close to the radiator and looks like it barely clears the hood hinge assembly.
What size condenser have others used or alternate locations ?
