Sounds like a failing head gasket ! 200 1982

This is B21A with 310k miles, solid body, well maintained.

Lately when cold it started vomitting coolant thru the screw cap on the plastic expansion tank (I keek the expansion tank cap loose so I do not pressurise the original 38 year heater core). It does reject coolant specialy when cold and before the thermostat start opening. Thermostat is not the problem since I replaced it with a tested one.

After starting engine temperature goes up almost in the red before thermostat starts opening, makes me think it is not in contact with coolant.

I disconnected the small hose between radiator and expansion tank and see bubbles coming out irregularly.

At this point I assume it is a head gasket failure.

I can get easily a Victor Heinz head gasket set.

Question: Is Victor Heinz a good brand for my car ?

Thank you for your suggestions.
