I will apologize now, at the front end, of what can only be described as a rant from a grumpy old man stuck in the mid west gloom....
We are given the opportunity to give a thumbs up (or a thumbs down) for any post or reply, and there are guidelines for awarding those.
As it states: Was this posting interesting or helpful? Voting helps other users to find good content.
Not every post is interesting, helpful, or containing good content. Recently it seems that a vast majority of posts are getting a thumbs up. It is not helpful, it is annoying. Any post with really good content is lost in a field of thumbs.
I've learned a lot from my participation at the Brickboard. I try to take time to run through the recent posts in an effort at learning more. In the past those thumbs up would catch my eye and indicate there was something there that someone had deemed interesting or helpful. Not so much anymore.
