Another Slow Window motor post... 200 1991

All,

I'm now working on my slow to me windows going down and up.

I have both front door cards off as I just installed electric mirrors and I thought while I'm in here, let me take a look at the electric window motor's and see what the voltage drop is.

So with the door cards off and window's up, and the car running, I'm reading 14 VDC at the switch.

When I put the window down, I get a .5VDC drop, and the voltage is 13.5 VDC. On the way up, I get a .7VDC drop, and the voltage is 13.3 VDC.

So my question is this, is this voltage drop negligible, or do the wires that run through doors rubber bellows need to be addressed?

Now mind you, the door cards are off, and the voltage drop may be more when they are placed back on, so would that maybe indicate that I need to replace the inside rubber that meets the window's? I ask this as they do get pulled down when I put the window's down. All four act this way.

Any thoughts on this matter are welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Matt
