Hey, I have a new issue. 1990 240 lh 2.4. We just cleaned the throttle body, flametrap and iac. They were seriously gummed up. Put everything back last night and drove it around and it was fine. Idle was at like 800 and that is close enough for now. Then started it again this morning and idle was at 2000 in park and drive.after driving awhile the idle eventually would normalize to maybe 1000 rpm in park. After the car cooled down I restarted it and the high rpms were back. I unplugged the iac and started car and it still idled at 2000 rpm. I unplugged the MAF and it started fine and was at about 800 rpm was kind of stumbling. I have another iac and MAF I can test tomorrow. Anything else I should look for or what could I have messed up by just cleaning these parts? I had the tps and iac electric bits protected when cleaning. I noticed the iac internal thing was open when cleaning it? Should it be closed? Just looking for hints on what it might be and if I am tracking this right. Oh yeah, is the brakes vacuum related? I have a small leak at the octopus thing and random brake failure light.
Also, when driving it the car will accelerate without using the pedal.
Do all of these clues point to something?
UPDATE: If I cover the intake hose to the IAC the idle is perfect. So should I clean it further or lube it? OR is it time to learn how to adjust the TPS?
