Crank pulley tool for aftermarket pulleys? IPD tool doesn't fit. 200

I replaced my (pretty worn and probably original) crank pulley with a new replacement. Aftermarket of course, since you can't get them from Volvo anymore. The trusty tool I'd bought from IPD wouldn't fit it, the holes in the pulley are too small. I'd read about this issue before but was hoping I'd be able to avoid it, since that tool makes the job so much easier.

I zipped if off with the impact, and carefully gave it a few taps when retightening, but I don't really trust it to not go flying off at some point. I know about the rope trick, and I know about putting it in gear and putting the e-brake on, but what I really want is a tool that fits. (I also like the excuse to buy a new tool)

Is there a tool out there that fits these smaller holes? Should I just bite the bullet and file out the holes on the pulley? I didn't in this case, since I was worried about throwing it out of balance (perhaps I am being too cautious here). Or is it as simple as buying a different aftermarket brand? For reference, the one I used is ScanTech (I know, I know).

Any and all thoughts welcome!
