Burned fuel pump fuse on 83' Turbo 200 1983

I was wondering what would cause a burned out fuse for my fuel pump. Yesterday the car stalled while i was doing my turbo cooldown, and i checked the main fuel pump fuse, and it was too hot to touch and just burned out. I replaced the fuse and the car works fine. What should I look for?

Any tips?
