V8 chevy in 262c 200 78

Two years ago I bought me 262 c beauty conversion with V8 chevy 305 and 400ht. She caught my eye the first time I saw her...

I new that her previous master did a conversion on her with no kit,

so our life wont be easy and her character (not mention the engine) will need some work and adjusments.. She has the style and I do

not want to loose her ... but after 2 years of serving it is time

for the correction...

Many things during this time went wrong:

-- starter did not like hot or wet weather, (replaced twice),

-- engine overheating

-- gas leaking at carburetor filter,

-- vibration at over 60mph, (tail prop probably no balanced ),

-- a/c compressor replaced (poor conversion),

I got the engine out (could not separate the transmission first,

but after the engine was half way out because there was no space

around the bell housing to get to the bolts... ),

Now I need any possible advice:

-- should I install v8 350 or stay with 305 ??

-- is chevy 200r o/d trany ok with 350 ?

-- how to eliminate overheating,
