I wanted to write and give thanks to all who take the time to contribute their knowledge to the greatest repository of Volvo Intelect. I by no means consider myself handy with cars, but with a little help from the board, one can pull off miracles.

For 3 months now, I have been without my precious overdrive on my Automatic 87 244. Wasn't really sure where to begin to figure this out, and with no money to give my Volvo Mechanic, lived and drove the car as a 3 speed. I decided to search the Brick Board Archives last friday for possible problems. I found everything from Low ATF, spent OD Relays, and severed wires. Armed with this new found knowledge I decided to grab a beer and have a look. Exactly one hour and 43 cents later I was purring along with my beloved overdrive. I came to find the wire running from the Solonoid to the Relay was severed, and with a quick splice I was back in business. This was my first fix outside of routine maintenance.
