B230FT; weak spot or coincidence 700

Is there something weak in the B230FT at number 1 cylinder?

My 780 has had slightly lower compression in number 1 cylinder than the other 3 since I bought it, so it has a little rhythmic shake at idle. It runs well so I left it alone. I originally thought it was an isolated thing.

The '91 760 recently started knocking (conn rod or wrist pin)- guess which wire I pull to make it change - #1. In looking for a replacement engine, I checked compression on 3 B230FTs and found #1 more than 25psi lower than the other 3 cylinders in two of these engines (the third one looked poorly maintained so I didn't take it).

Is this pure coincidence or is there something causing much higher wear in that cylinder in this engine?
