Well I did it, finally!!! The list of what it took.
Replaced the thermostat, air filter, cleaned throttle body, cleaned and replaced flame trap plumbing, replaced fuel lines on fuel rail, replaced injector seals, put on another Cat-used aftermarket ,new intake gasket, and turned the timing down to around 8 degrees. And yesterday I'm legal. The only thing that really made a difference was the injector seals, the car idles very well now, big improvement on accelration too. So I'm guessing that was the trouble all along. Timing is back to 12, it runs better there, although something I'm not sure of, what would cause the timing mark to bounce around, it varies about 2 degrees back and forth.
Here's the passing readings:
Gas Standard Reading
NOx 1273 1153 PASS
HC 167 20 PASS
CO 1.57 .09 PASS
CO2 14.8
02 .6
RPM 45mph
So my brick is good for another 2 years, YAHOO!!!
Thanks for all the info and assistance, before this I had no idea what NOx
even was.
Thanks again!!!
