A few weekends ago I replaced the cone bushings in the lower control arm of my 740 Turbo. The bushings are supposed to have a large washer on each side of them, four in all. What I found was only onw washer on one side and three on another. So I made the necessary corrections and put it back together. It seemed to drive much better except that a cyclical front end vibration got worse as time went on. So last night I took it in for an alignment and the guy reset the toe-in on his super duper new wizbang alignment machine, complete with PC running winzode and a really large TV monitor. The tech was quite knowlegable about the car and his new machine even has photos of the front end stored for reference, as well as most other cars as well. I also had them rotate the tires, front to back. I know, I should have done it myself, but it was there and it was only 10bux, so WFT.

The car drives so much better except now the cyclical vibration is on the rear. I guess I'll just have to drive it really hard around the turns to wear the rear tires round again.

He also said the camber is a little off. I have all the before and after measurements so I'll be asking some Volvo Masters what I should do next.
